I didn't really know Gus- in fact, looking back, I can't even remember for sure if I ever met him. (He worked in a different building) But I always checked out the shows of my fellow grad students. Looking at the MFA show of Agostino Bonaminio in the Mitchell Museum on the campus of Southern Illinois University. This is Agostino. Just happened to come across your reference to my show, 20 years ago. Amazing what you can find...
You didn't say what you thought of the work though I am glad to have inspired a woodcut. What has happened to this piece?
I'm afraid that my memories of the exhibition , 20 years later, are more of my print about it than the show itself. I don't remember anything about the artworks that were on the wall, though I can still visualize the presentation with the small hanging spotlights in front of each piece. As for the print itself, I have two complete sets of prints, one of which I exhibited earlier this spring. Unfortunately, about half the blocks from this series were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, but if my records are correct, this is one that survived the flood.
